Importexa

Design and manufacturing personalized clothes and accessories

Importexa

Traceability has always been on our radar: for many years we have been working in a “sustainable” way.

We therefore must demonstrate the real added value of our products, created with respect for social and environmental factors.

Transparency is essential for our customers to gain their trust.

The fact that this solution is 100% Swiss really helps, both in terms of credibility and data security.

It allows me to build trust among the market and have a team nearby to help solve my problems.

CONTEXT

Importexa SA has been operating for more than 40 years in Switzerland and in France, in the work and corporate event clothing sector.

For many years, the climate has been deteriorating, and the race for prices has become a number one consideration.

1) Customer challenges

Offering cheap services has become normal, and it is often difficult to defend a price and compare apples to apples – rather than pears.

It therefore takes up a lot of energy trying to explain why an item is worth its price.

The idea of being able to “trace” an item and tell its story was very interesting to us.

The ability to quickly and transparently explain the origin of a raw material and show that the item manufacture is carried out under good social and environmental conditions are essential components in Importexa’s DNA.

Today, CSR is a crucial parameter, and Importexa had to find an agile solution to explain the history of its products to customers.

2) The EgoTrace Solution

I immediately liked the look of the EgoTrace solution. The simplicity of the steps involved and fairly simple set-up seemed well suited to our needs.

What’s also interesting is being able to “set the slider” on the depth of the information and evolve over time. We were able to start the project with approx. 80% of our data and continue to feed the platform without modifying or adapting the tools and at no extra cost.

The proposed solution was to break down our processes into four steps, and within each step rework into another four steps ad infinitum, so we were able to break down the sector according to our needs.

3) The Results

The results are very satisfactory and fully meet our needs. We started the project on our manufacturing in Tunisia to stand out from Chinese manufacturing and better defend our price.

At first, we did not improve productivity or other manufacturing processes. Our goal was not based on processes but communication: to “prove” the origin of our materials and manufacturing locations in line with CSR standards, giving us the edge over the competition.

After an analysis and running through the options of the EgoTrace tool, it was suggested that we use a management component linked to material stock, which proved useful in optimizing our purchases and flows.

We continue to reflect on potential developments including, among other things, linking stock statements produced to an e-commerce site and add increments to item classifications.

The positioning and value maximization of ISA products have grown stronger thanks to EgoTrace.
